The completion of the National Museum Forecourt Redevelopment was the largest works undertaken by the Museum since its opening in 2010.

The existing concrete forecourt was re-designed by ARM Architecture with a series of shapes and structures that match the overall award-winning building design. Regal undertook the construction of the Mosaic gardens which allow visitors to experience a full range of native plants from across Australia. The main feature of the gardens is the stainless steel mirrored Welcome Wall that guides visitors to the entry of the Museum. The 68 metre long wall reaches over 4m tall providing a statement in the day and night.
